Kitchen Designer
Of The Year 2005
Designer: Morgan Cronin from Cronin Kitchens
Judges Comments: Complex in its function yet simple in
its aesthetics. Illusion of openness with the use of the suspended
extractor, its slimline shape matching the kitchens fine horizontal
lines. The discreet placement of appliances works very well and
the lighting accents are a strong feature.

Bathroom Designer Of The Year 2005
Designer: Morgan Cronin from Cronin Kitchens
Judges Comments: Unique detail of well-crafted and stylised
custom designed vanity. Simple, yet proficient minimalist lines.
Mirrors set up the vanity avoid splash marks. Recessed panel lighting
spreads a wash of warmth through this room.

Designer: Lloyd Richardson from Lloyds
Joinery
Judges Comments: Creative Design with great use of horizontal
lines, and nice contrast of materials. Interesting use of textural
elements with timber adding warmth. Nice illusion of floating
units.

Runner Up Bathroom Designer
Of The Year 2005
Designer: Peter Young from Waikanae
Kitchen & Joinery
Judges Comments: Good attention to detail. Repetition of
geometrical patterns throughout bathroom pleasing to the eye.
Impressive result achieved with tiling. Use of materials offers
interesting visual effects. The step up to the bath is a nice
feature.

Designer: Jonelle Bowman from Mastercraft

Judges Comments: The Limited Budget is not evident in the
final design. It looks sophisticated and the waterfall ends make
clever use of the laminate.

Judges Comments: Good solution found to deal with unnecessary
window by covering with frosted glass. Great use of lighting,
contrasting dark tones providing balance. Display shelves with
quirky tin toy collection an eye-catching feature.

illumination on glass. Nice!

Judges Comments: Innovative use of the glass for the benchtop
and sliding doors behind splashback. Appealing combination of
glass and aluminium.

Judges Comments: Excellent design to keep true to clients
brief to fit Tudor style home. Curved cabinet an eye-catching
feature.

Judges Comments: The monochromatic colour scheme enhanced
by the warmth of the floor and complemented by up and down lighting
is a major feature.

era, and is modernised using colour and complementary materials.

Designer: Colleen Holder from Innovative Kitchens Auckland
Judges Comments: The Judges were impressed with the kitchen
layout which showed the designer understood the client brief,
and also displayed a good knowledge of products available. Overall
it was a well presented project with good design and plenty of
flair.
